What is the startup process (curing)?
The startup process, also called curing, is a critical period where your new plaster surface properly bonds and hardens. During this time, we carefully fill your pool with water while continuously brushing the surface to remove loose plaster particles and prevent staining. The water chemistry must be precisely balanced and monitored daily, with specific pH and alkalinity levels maintained to ensure the plaster cures correctly. How long does the startup take?
The complete startup and curing process takes approximately 28-30 days from the time we begin filling your pool. However, you can typically begin swimming after 7-10 days once the initial water balancing is complete and we've given you the green light. During the full 30-day period, we'll continue monitoring your water chemistry and making necessary adjustments. It's important to follow our specific care instructions during this time, including daily brushing and avoiding certain chemicals, to ensure your new plaster develops its full strength and beauty.
